Casas Adobes Congregational : Celebration of Life

Scripture promises us that we are not left alone in our grief. We trust in the good news of Christ’s resurrection, the promise of abundant and eternal life, and the healing presence of God’s Spirit.

Casas Adobes Congregational UCC considers it our privilege to walk with families as they bid farewell to a loved one. We offer this ministry to those who are members or friends of our congregation, as well as to those who are unconnected to the church. A funeral (where the body of the deceased is present) is generally held a few days following death. A memorial service (where the body of the deceased is not present) may be held a few days following death or at a time convenient to the family. The worship service is usually held at the church — in our main sanctuary or our chapel. Occasionally, families prefer to hold the service at a funeral home, a grave side, or at another location. We also refer you to and commend to you the Columbarium at Casas Adobes UCC.

Please feel encouraged to contact Casas Adobes UCC and our pastors if you expect to be or are now in need of help in setting up a funeral or memorial service. Services generally include a meditation by the pastor, Scripture, prayers, and music. Family members or friends may also offer remembrances during the service. Music can be traditional or appropriate for the celebration of the life for which we now give thanks.

At times Casas Adobes Congregational UCC does host a post-service reception or allow for and encourage you to use our fellowship hall and kitchen to cater to your reception needs. Please feel encouraged to contact us for information and rates for such reception assistance. We are also most willing to suggest appropriate fees for the extra custodial services and adequate honorium for musicians and pastors.
