Here are some of the ways the people of Casas Adobes Congregational Church, UCC, observe Advent --- that time of waiting for the Spirit of Christ to be reborn. Coffee, cake and conversation at 21st Century Live on a rainy Thursday night; raising money for third world artisans at our annual Alternative Gifts Fair; writing Christmas cards to church friends and enjoying holiday crafts at the Advent Festival; families lighting the Advent candles at Sunday services; splendid music from the choir adding emphasis to the sermon; re-enacting La Posada in the Church School Pageant; and surrounding the Angel Tree with presents for children of prison inmates.
