All ages were invited to experience Vacation Bible School at Casas Adobes Congregational Church this summer. For six consecutive Sundays beginning July 24, everyone --- kids, youth, adults --- explored ways to renew ourselves, our church and our community.
We were guided by Renew! --- a Green VBS curriculum. Each week's Green topic was introduced during the 9:20 am education time and continue at 10:15 am. No matter your age, you were invited to participate in both sessions.
Here was the schedule:
July 24: Topic: Food Supply and demand; how we grow our food, how it's transported and marketed. What we can do to be a healthier eater.
Craft: Seed cards that can be planted.
July 31: Topic: Recycling and how communities can be productive.
Craft: Recycling station.
August 7: Topic: Water, its need and conservation; how local actions impact the world.
Craft: Making a water filter.
August 14: Topic: Wind: how its power can help us.
Craft: Pockets of Promise.
August 21: Topic: Challenges we face trying to live more "earth friendly."
Craft: Reminder sock puppets.
August 28: Topic: Working together to make small but important changes in our daily lives.
Craft: "Pass It On" bags.
